In New York it would never happen. New York fans love their teams when they are doing well and hate them when they are playing bad. But they never, ever, root for someone else or wear another teams silly gear.
There are a few Maverick Fans that are now jumping on the L.A. Laker bandwagon. They claim to be Kobe lovers. Take NBC5 editor “Mean” Gene Rickman. During the regular season he lived and breathed the Mavericks. To him a night in front of the tube watching Dirk and the Jet was all he needed to be happy. Now look at him!

Yes, that’s Gene, the self described Mav Maniac in training. He claims he’s wearing that Grimace Purple Laker hat to celebrate the Spurs loss. Maybe, but last night during the game, Gene was overheard chanting, “May the force be with you Kobe-one-Kenobi!”
I fear too many Mavericks fans will jump on the Kobe Train, leaving Dirk to wallow in a sea of sadness as all Mavs fans wish, they had Kobe wearing Mavs blue not Dirk.

I’m not a hockey fan, I really don’t even like the sport. But when it’s all that left in the Big D what is a sports fan to do? The Rangers are already out of it, the Mavs are in my dog house, and NFL draft day is over. That leaves me forced to watch a bunch of white guys with broken noses skate around a rink doing something most people have never done in their lives.
With that said, the Stars need to know, all of Dallas’s sports hopes and dreams rest on their shoulders. Please, please, please, do not blow this 3-0 lead against San Jose. We have had to endure the Mavs blow it all three times including their loss to Miami in the finials two years ago. Don’t even start me on the Cowboys, the fumble, the Giants!
I never expected the Stars to go to the Stanley Cup much less win it. But once they went up 3-0 in this seriers, why not the Stanley Cup? I will say this now, if the Stars do blow this seriers, maybe Dallas sports teams really are jinxed. I’m not saying that yet, but the possibility exists.

I have used this picture before, but I thought it was most fitting one day after Mark Cuban had Donnie Nelson show Avery Johnson the door. The whole scene probably looked like the picture above, Donnie Nelson playing the part of the Ref. Avery would be forced to answer, “No you get out, you fired me in my own condo!” Yes, that’s where it all went down, inside Avery Johnson’s condo. I first heard a rumor, Avery was fired right after the Mavs game 5 loss to New Orleans. The team plane left with out him, leaving Avery to take a Southwest flight home. I actually think getting fired in your own condo is worse.
His firing is long over due. I thank him for his service, but he just didn’t have what it takes to lead the school girls he was coaching. (I am not sure anyone does).
It should also be noted, GM Donnie Nelson plays a role in the Mavericks failure. The Kidd trade was a disaster, no matter who lobbied for it, it ultimately falls on the GMs shoulders. Mark Cuban needs to take a hard look at his front office, this off season. He should do that, before they blow this team up, something that also needs to be done.

So the man who was supposed to win us a championship “this year” gets ejected! Jerry Stackhouse and the rest of the crew can’t make a shot. Only Dirk and The Jet showed any signs of playing like they were supposed to last night. Bottom line, the Mavs have reached the depths of being pathetic. I am disgusted when watching them.
After all the hype of the game three win against the Hornets, we get to watch a romp last night. We really only have to look to game three to realize why the Mavs got blown out. In game 3 they got lucky. Yes, I said LUCKY! In game 3 all the Mavs shots were falling, while the Hornets couldn’t buy a bucket.
Game 4, back to reality. The Mavs don’t shoot well, the Hornets make shots when they have to. In the third quater when the Mavericks cut the lead to 5, I thought this may be the start of something. 30 seconds later, I was about to shut the TV off.
I have said it time and time again, the Mavericks play like a bunch of school girls and I blame Avery Johnson. There is no way this team wins three in a row. And as the old saying goes, “If you can’t win three in row, Avery must go.”

I figured the best way to get blog hits would be to write about things people are interested in. Since I don’t have any, “Free Hanna Montana Tickets“… that won’t work. I do have this picture of Charlize Theron taken by my wife at the AFI Dallas Film Festival, though I am sure most searches are looking for a naked pictures of Charlize Theron. You won’t find that on NBC5i.com.

Amy (my wife, Amy Vanderoef) also gave me this picture of her with Martin Sheen. She has another with Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman, two Cowboy Greats, but she didn’t send it in time for this post.

I wish I could tell you I have free music downloads, but I don’t. And NBC5 does not condone Porn on this site, though I am told that is the number one search on the internet. A contest offering Stars Playoff Tickets, along with Mavericks Playoff Tickets certainly would drive traffic here. Sadly, I have none to give away.
I am told links to other bloggers is a great way to get traffic. I met a terrific guy over at Farecompare.com, a place to look for cheap airline tickets and discount fares. His name is Rick Seaney and he has a blog that also focuses on cheap airline tickets and discount fares.
Rick will be an expert in my story that airs tonight on Frequent Flyer Miles and the challanges flyers face when trying to use them.
Below is a computer geeks way of getting traffic, Make my blog one of your favorites! Please, I beg of you.
